The Phantom 3 Advanced continues the proud tradition of DJI's Phantom series and brings several important innovations to the Phantom's rich feature set. The Phantom 3 Advanced carries a fully stabilized 3-axis 1080p full HD video camera for smooth, crisp videos and still photos. To allow you to see what the drone sees, DJI has engineered a new generation of their Lightbridge technology that allows 720p HD digital streaming of live video directly from the drone. You can control the camera and see video in real time as you fly and you can even share the video using the DJI Pilot app's advanced features. To aid indoor flying, the Phantom 3 Advanced includes an integrated array of optical and ultrasonic sensors call Vision Positioning that allows you to fly precisely indoors without a GPS signal. The Phantom 3 Advanced includes all the tried-and-true features you'd expect from a DJI drone, including GPS navigation with auto takeoffs and auto landings, intelligent high power flight battery, a built-in safety database of no fly zones, and a powerful mobile app for your iOS or Android device.
Improved aerial platform, tons of features, ready-to-fly and great quadcopter you will love
I started out with the Phantom 2 Vision and this is a great product. Very stable with good pictures. My initial aim was to just have an eye in the sky. As I started to get into aerial videos, I began to yearn for something more. After looking at my videos, I started to get more immersed into them and wanting to get better at video recording. This was between Feb – Apr 2015.
Best drone on the market by far! DJI makes first class drones!
After about a month of owning the Phantom 3 Advanced and I think I am up to 80 some flights with over 7 hours of flight time it has been exceptional. I am sure a lot of people who are looking to purchase their first drone would like to read a review of someone who has owned the drone for a touch longer than myself. I will say this to any new pilots though, there are a lot of people on YouTube that offer tutorials and things like that. Watch those. Seriously take time to familiarize yourself with the Phantom and the flight controls. I watched so many videos and so many tutorials that when I finally got my Phantom 3 Advanced I had a pretty good idea of what I was doing. Also to new pilots, take it easy. Don’t stretch it out to its limits your first flight.
Great drone but major defect.
I’ve owned my phantom 3 advanced for almost a year and have over 70 flights on the bird. It has captured some breathtaking moments on our farm and I owe its ease of use and amazing camera credit. I’ve had pretty much all but good reports with this drone and have never crashed hard.
I havbe had my Phantom 3 for a few months now… I will say this… IT FREAKING ROCKS!

Awesome platform, except the Android version of their app…
Feb 20, 2017 Update:
Takes Much Better video, easier to fly than DJI II and Lots of fun!
Are you kidding? We have the DJI II and a few other off brand quad copters, but this one is the BOMB! With the iPad screen hooked up to this my husband can see everything he is doing, where he is at in the sky and the camera controls are also at his fingertips. I used to have to help him because he needed a second person hooked up with the iPad via Bluetooth to help him, but now he can fly by himself and do all the controls. I can still go out with him and fly and use the iPad in my hands and not on the DJI II as well… The camera on this is so much better than the DJI II. There is no bouncing videos or having to fix the curve afterward. The videos come out really nice right off the quad copter the first time around. We are really impressed with this drone. We got the Aluminum Case to travel with this and it will be much better than finding bags and places to set all of his equipment in the back of the truck. He is really happy with his DJI II.
Great UAS with HORRIFIC customer service (DJI) and lackluster durability
I have to concur with all the reviews of the performance of this UAS. It’s highly responsive, a joy to fly, and both stills and video are wonderful. However, heaven forbid you need to contact DJI for anything – because they will not respond. Also, this UAS is not as durable as you’d hope given its aerial capability. When trying to land it on an outdoor table (yes, my fault for landing it myself rather than using auto-land) due to an otherwise wet surface, I brought it down harder than needed and it bounced off its legs and landed on the ground (maybe a 3 foot drop). Afterward the accelerometer wouldn’t calibrate and I received “NO MC DATA ACCELEROMETER FAILED” error message. The fix for such a problem is not through DJI – apparently a “crash” voids the warranty – but to smack the UAS on the opposite side on which it made impact during the “crash” (found this fix on the DJI forum (http://forum.dji.com/thread-19612-1-1.html). Believe it or not, the “fix” worked and the UAS is back up and flying. The lesson was learned the hard way that this is a VERY delicate piece of technology with a VERY limited warranty. Fly safe!
If you want a drone for excellent FPV video buy the P3A at this special price
Arrived in Florida from California packed well and undamaged and no sales tax charged. This is an equal to the P3P I also own and rarely used for 4K. I usually record at 1080 so I didn’t really need the 4K of the P3P. I flew the first test flight yesterday and the wind was around 15 MPH gusting to 22 MPH and the P3A was steady as a rock with the gusty wind barely affecting it. I tried hovering flight both near the ground and at altitude and also at full speed and it tracked right on the money.
