I found I have much better control on speed level 2
This quad-copter is very affordable and durable. I’ve crashed it into trees, the ground, and even my house and it still works well. I found I have much better control on speed level 2, especially in the wind.

This quad is amazing! My kids have had cheaper $20 quads before and they never lasted long or were very difficult to fly. My 9 year old son really wanted a better one for his birthday. The UDI U818A seemed like it had good reviews and was easy to fly. Well, it really is easy to fly and an amazing machine! It can take a beating too, having been rescued from several trees and a few hard landings. With the cheaper quads, this meant trying to replace blades within the first few flights, but no damage so far and the quad has been flown hard for a couple of weeks now.
great copter if flewn in manual mode(headless and GO HOME functions are terrible)
I have tested this quadcopter extensively as well as 2 exact 818’s. the copter flys well and can fly great with some simple mods BUT DO NOT RELY ON the ‘headless mode OR the ‘go home’ function, those functions are NOT designed well and are VERY wonky! if you use this copter in its manual type flight modes it does well.
SUPER FUN ! AND GREAT VIDEO !

An excellent first quadcopter with terrible instructions
If you’re looking for a beginner quadcopter that has a lot of features, but is cheap and durable enough to survive a few crashes, then the UDI U818A comes in at just the right place. Once you’ve gotten used to the controls (more on this in the next paragraph), maneuvering is smooth, predictable, and drama-free. Remote range is excellent, and while the camera isn’t pro-grade, it is good enough for social media clips and pictures.
Great priced drone with a slew of features that leads to it being fun to fly
It’s a fun drone to fly. This is my second U818A, the first one broke a strut after about 13 months (crash landed too many times!) It was cheaper to get a new one versus all the parts, plus the new one has an HD camera and headless flight.
My sons got these for Christmas. After reading hundreds of reviews this ended up on my top list. We are not disappointed! It’s a great unit. Sturdy! Easily learned ( takes a lot of patient trials first!), does flips as stated. The battery lasted 15 min after first charge. Less now after many charges. Watching not to over charge the batteries. I bought extra batteries but they were 600 not 500 and are a tight fit. They practice over a mattress and have a route inside they have to master before taking it outside. My husband did take them to a sheltered park and they flew low. With any wind it would have been lost. So more indoor practice challenges are needed. We have only had them out of the box since Christmas (less than a week) but they have had daily use. My boys are 11 and 12 and are getting the hang of flying pretty well. We recommend supervision and instruction and direction for the first few flights. And involvement to help the younger set learn techniques. My sons are on the more careful side of boys and are mechanically inclined. They read the directions book first and nearly memorized it before flying. We emphasized that this is not a toy so extra care is needed. I related all the cautions from the reviews. We paired the units separately as indicated by other reviews. They fly at the same time with no issues. My husband wants one now. Highly recommend.
